This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
Sandpainting - Frosty dawn on Avon Water - New Forest.1985
To create my permanent sand paintings I use un-dyed natural coloured sands collected on field trips to Alum Bay on the Isle of Wight and other locations in Southern England as 'paint ' as well as incorporating recycled materials (where appropriate) such as magnetised iron filings for 'The Iron Lady ' and the 'Berlin Wall', and stonemasons dust from restoration work on English Cathedrals. My 'brushes' are discarded sterilised bird feathers and together with other found and recycled materials help create my unique and tactile works of art in complete harmony with my green credentials, and in so doing I have created an ongoing series of truly unique and quirky sand pictures to complement homes and offices and are ideal as conversation pieces particularly popular with shrewd buyers and collectors! Framed to include packing carriage and despatch.
About Environmental Sandpainter and Sand Artist Brian Pike
'FEATHERS ARE MY BRUSHES SAND IS MY PAINT!' In October 2011 I was filmed for BBC television in after collecting Alum Bay coloured sands from the ‘Needles Park’ complex, and then with the curator's permission moving on to work on a sand-painting in King Charles 1’s bedchamber at Carisbrooke Castle, on the Isle of Wight where the King was held prisoner awaiting his execution in Whitehall. I was copying a sand picture by Victorian sand artist Edwin Dore of ‘The Needles viewed from Alum Bay’ part of the Museums’ collection of Georgian and Victorian sand-paintings. It is since retiring from financial and management accounting that I am now able to devote more time to marketing the results of my endeavours as well as exploring the many...
