Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
This is a acrylic painting showing the wonder's of the Navajo Stories and Philosophy of Hozhoo or balance in life. It starts with one entering this world from his or her mother's womb and living in the Navajo World of Dinetah surrounded by the four sacred mountains each with its different sacred colors. Life starts at the center and gradually we make our way in this world as a child, adult, and elder eventually making our way into the 5th world.
Ya a teeh (Hello in Navajo)! I'm Sean Alvin Begaye, an Anthropologist, Navajo Painter, Jeweler, and Army Officer. For the last 14 years I've been painting, making jewelry, and have been in the Armed Services. I grew up in Fort Defiance, Arizona in Northern Arizona and after high school I made the decision to defend my country just as my father Alvin E. Begaye, (CPT US Army) and grandfathers before me did, first as a United States Marine, and eventually as a Soldier in the U.S. Army. My clans are Sleep Rock People born for Many Goats (Navajo Clans) I'm a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, although I am currently in the military I look forward to the day I lay down my arms and pursue my dreams of owning a Art...
